ServiceSG Centres represent a transformative, citizen-centric approach to public service delivery by integrating government services in one place. Designed with citizens’ needs in mind, ServiceSG Centre Ang Mo Kio, the tenth centre in the ServiceSG network, offers a reimagined service experience with greater accessibility and convenience through the consolidation of multiple government agencies under one roof. Located at AMK Hub (#04-02), a popular suburban mall in Ang Mo Kio that is directly connected to the MRT station and bus interchange, the centre brings government services closer to the community.
“Walk-in-the-Park” is inspired by the vision of the ServiceSG Centre as a space that makes government services more accessible to the public, particularly citizens who require assistance navigating digital services independantly or are dealing with complex issues which require face to face interaction with public officers. Through lush greenery, natural finishes, gently curved forms and intuitive, free-flowing circulation, the design evokes the calm and openness of a park, creating a warm, welcoming and approachable alternative to conventional public service spaces.
Inspired by Ang Mo Kio’s heritage as a former rubber plantation and the iconic Clover Block (Block 259), the design incorporates a rubber tree and clover-shaped seating to create a familiar, calming environment that encourages community interaction and strengthens the centre’s connection to the local identity.
